A Call for Action: Support HR4566 to Correct Radiation Exposure Injustices
As of 9/27/23, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) remains a key figure in our ongoing fight for justice. However, we must not forget that the Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA), DTRA's predecessor, was the organization responsible for distorting the truth. They made the egregious decision to falsely record our radiation exposures as administrative doses of 0.000. When DTRA inherited DNA’s falsified records in 1998, the legacy of those lies continued to haunt us.
But now, there is a glimmer of hope in the form of HR4566, a new bill that has the power to untie DTRA’s hands. This legislation will amend title 38 of the U.S. Code, ensuring that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs no longer needs to rely on DTRA or the DNA's fabricated radiation exposure records. It will prohibit the VA from requiring veterans to provide evidence of specific radiation doses to be recognized as radiation-exposed veterans.
We urgently need your help to pass this bill. Please reach out to your federal legislators and ask them to support HR4566. Once passed, this law will remove a major roadblock, ensuring the VA no longer has to ask for falsified DNA records to determine exposure.
Take action today! Visit my public profile page and share the link with others who can help us. Together, we can correct the historical wrongs and secure the recognition and justice that is long overdue for all radiation-exposed veterans. Thank you for standing with us!
