Michael Hopkins, an Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2), served with exceptional skill and bravery as a UH-1H Medivac Pilot during the Enewetak Atoll cleanup mission. From November 21, 1979, to May 1, 1980, Michael’s role was vital to the mission, providing critical medical evacuation support and ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel stationed across the atoll’s remote islands.


Operating from his home base on Enewetak Island, Michael’s mission extended to supporting activities on all other islands within the atoll. His work as a medevac pilot demanded precision, composure, and unwavering commitment.
