Poem - Shadows and Rememberence

Shadows and Rememberence by J.D. Ryder

In the quiet moments, when shadows fall,

We remember those who answered the call.

In the Pacific, where waves meet the shore,

Young heroes stood, in peace and war.

In the Cold War's shadow, their mission was clear,

To cleanse the land, to persevere.

Though danger loomed, and stakes were high,

They faced it all, with heads held high.

Their duty called for strength and grace,

In far-off, desolate places.

Removing debris, they toiled with pride,

A brotherhood, standing side by side.

With every sunrise, their legacy renews,

A testament to the paths they choose.

For in their hearts, a fire burned bright,

Guiding them through the darkest night.

We gather, sharing tales of old,

Of young heroes whose hearts were bold.

Their deeds and toil, we'll always extol,

A story of courage, pure and whole.

Their legacy, a flame that will not dim,

A light eternal, we carry within.

For every act of kindness, every smile,

They walk with us, mile after mile.

In the book of life, their chapter remains,

A story of courage, joy, and pains.

We turn the pages with reverence and pride,

Knowing they're with us, by our side.

As the sun sets and the day is done,

We honor those, our beloved ones.

Their memory a treasure, a guiding star,

Forever with us, near or far.
