Joe’s military service began in October 1968, during the Vietnam era, a time of great challenge and conflict. His decision to enlist in the U.S. Navy during such a tumultuous time demonstrated his courage and willingness to serve his country when it needed him most. Throughout his career, Joe played a critical role in one of the most demanding missions: the nuclear cleanup of the Marshall Islands.
