RIP: In Memory of a Fallen Brother - Robert Ray Clouatre

In memory of Robert Ray Clouatre, a dedicated member of the US Air Force and a courageous Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Staff Sergeant. Ray's service and sacrifice will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

Born on March 1, 1977, Ray embarked on his tour at Enewetak from March 1, 1977, to September 1, 1977. During his time on Lojwa Island and the Northern islands, Ray worked tirelessly on radiological support and ordnance identification, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his duty.

Tragically, Ray succumbed to cancer of the mouth and tongue on July 19, 2017, in Seattle, Washington. His passing left a void in the hearts of his comrades and loved ones, who remember him fondly for his bravery and selflessness.

Although not everyone had the opportunity to know Ray well, his impact on those around him was profound. His colleague and friend, Michael M "Spanky" Sanford, recalls Ray's influence in encouraging him to volunteer for a tour, a decision that shaped his own journey.

As we honor Ray's memory, let us reflect on his service, his camaraderie, and the legacy he leaves behind. May his courage and sacrifice never be forgotten, and may his spirit continue to inspire us all.

In memory of Robert Ray Clouatre, may he rest in peace, knowing that his contributions to his country and his comrades will always be cherished and remembered.
