Continuing the legacy of our Atomic Veterans, Lloyd Dwaine Hatcher, a dedicated Navy Coxswain, played a vital role in the cleanup efforts on Enewetak Atoll during his deployment from July 1st, 1978, to January 10th, 1979. As a Coxswain for LCM6 and LCM8 landing craft in CRS-1, Lloyd's responsibilities included transporting equipment and materials between islands and dump sites.

Operating landing craft in the waters surrounding Enewetak Atoll presented numerous challenges, but Lloyd navigated these waters with skill and precision. His role involved ferrying essential supplies and equipment to various islands, facilitating cleanup, and ensuring operations run smoothly.

Despite the demanding nature of his duties, Lloyd encountered health challenges due to his service in Enewetak. However, he has since retired and receives support from the VA for his medical needs.
