In honor of Mark A. Goodman, a resilient Army veteran, whose service on two tours of duty at Lojwa left an indelible mark on the mission and his fellow servicemembers. Hailing from the 14th Engineer Battalion at Fort Ord, CA, Mark joined the 84th Engineer Battalion, where he served with distinction and dedication. His journey through these challenging assignments is a testament to his unwavering commitment and professionalism.


During his first tour from October 1977 to March 1978, Mark contributed his expertise as a construction specialist, playing a vital role in various construction projects at Lojwa. His skills and commitment were instrumental in ensuring the timely completion of critical infrastructure, despite the challenges posed by the remote island environment. The work was grueling and the conditions often harsh, yet Mark's determination ensured that every task was completed with precision and care.


Undeterred by the demands of military service, Mark returned for a second tour from October 1978 to April 1979, once again serving as a construction specialist at Lojwa.
