"Lifting the Mission, Carrying the Legacy."
Charles Edward Holt, an Army E-4 Heavy Equipment Operator, served with determination and resilience during the Enewetak Atoll cleanup mission as part of B Company, 84th Engineer Battalion. From July 18, 1977, to January 30, 1978, Charles played a critical role in the logistical operations on Lojwa Island, ensuring the smooth movement of supplies essential to the mission’s success.
Charles’s primary duty involved loading and unloading supplies from Navy Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessels—a task that demanded precision, strength, and teamwork. These supplies were vital for sustaining the cleanup efforts across the islands, and his role was a cornerstone of the mission’s infrastructure. Working tirelessly under challenging conditions, Charles exemplified the commitment and discipline of our nation’s service members.
